Coralia is a classic Phinisi that’s built in Bira, Sulawesi by the Konjo tribe that has been building cargo ships for centuries.
Coralia is a project by Papua Explorers that have been renown for exceptional service quality and commitment to protecting the nature while developing local communities in Raja Ampat.
We took inspiration from life above and below the water. Flowing script forms the outline of a sailing boat, with a blue brushstroke beneath it suggesting the sea. Watercolour coral illustrations extend this idea into the wider identity.
Soft blues, coral pinks and warm orange tones bring the underwater palette onto paper. We arranged the illustrations around the edges, leaving open space for the text and allowing the coral shapes to continue from one application to another.
For the brochure, we combined the illustrations with photographs of the boat, its cabins and the surrounding landscape. Deep blue panels organise the practical information, while lighter areas give the images and coral details room.
We carried the same visual language onto the website, using the coral illustrations to frame the content. Simple navigation and large photographs introduce life on board, with the colours and handwritten logo connecting the digital experience to the printed materials.
